During showmanship, an exhibitor's main responsibility is to have their animal look her best at all times. Personal poise, alertness and neatness are also important in the show ring. The exhibitor must keep an eye on their animal and be aware of the position of the judge at all times. They must not get distracted in the ring, respond quickly to requests from the judge, be courteous and be a good sport at all times.
