BEDFORD COUNTY (PA) 4-H DEVELOPMENT FUND SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants for the Bedford County 4-H Development Fund Scholarship must be members in good standing in a Bedford County 4-H Club. Applicants must also have completed secondary education and be enrolled in a college or vocational program. Two $150.00 Scholarship are annually available to recognize outstanding 4-H members active in the Bedford County, PA 4-H Program. Emphasis is on the member and their participation in club, county, and state activities. Particular emphasis is placed on their leadership and impact on their club, community, and county.
BEDFORD COUNTY (PA) JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SALE SCHOLARSHIP
Bedford County Junior Livestock Sale Scholarship requires that the youth must sell an animal through the junior livestock sale at the Bedford County (PA) Fair the year in which they apply and be enrolled in a secondary education program. For more details and application visit the link below.

BEDFORD COUNTY (PA) FAIR JR. DAIRY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This Scholarship is to recognize outstanding 4-H/FFA dairy members that have been active in their respective youth organizations and the Bedford County Fair Junior Dairy Program. Applicants for the Bedford County Fair Junior Dairy Scholarship must be members in good standing in the Bedford County 4-H Program and/or Bedford County FFA Chapter.
BEDFORD COUNTY (PA) HORSE & PONY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is to recognize two outstanding 4-H member active in the Bedford County 4-H Horse & Pony Program. Applicants for the Bedford County 4-H Horse Pony Scholarship must be at least 17 years old but not older than 21 as of January 1 of the current year. They must have completed at least four years of 4-H membership in the Horse and Pony Program. Due October 1.
MSGR. JOHN W. MIGNOT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP sponsored by the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs
Purpose
To provide financial assistance to students attending college (or other type of institution of higher learning) who are/had been active in their local fairs.
Awards
Maximum of six (6) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually.
Eligibility
Applicant must be a Pennsylvania resident, currently (or had been previously) active for at least 2 years in a fair that is a member of PSACF (PA State Association of County Fairs), and will be attending college (or other type of institution of higher learning) the Fall semester of the current year. Applicant can submit only one application per year. Applicant can receive this award only one time to give other applicants the opportunity to
receive this award.
Application
Application must be downloaded from the PSACF website, www.pafairs.org (available in PDF format), completed by the student, printed out , signed by the applicant and a parent or guardian, and then submitted to one of the member fairs for endorsement. Handwritten applications will not be considered. Students should contact their local fair in advance to confirm membership in the PSACF. A complete list of PSACF members can be found on the website.
Deadline
Student must submit his/her application to a member fair no later than June 30.
DR. ROY D. HOFFMAN SCHOLARSHIP
The Dr. Roy D. Hoffman Scholarship Fund of The Pittsburgh Foundation was created to assist students in Bedford and Fulton Counties, Pennsylvania in acquiring post-secondary education. (Applications will be available mid November.) Deadline March 31st!
Criteria
Attend high school as a graduating senior.
Reside in Bedford County or Fulton County, PA.
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Plan to attend an accredited vocational or technical trade school OR 2-or 4-year college or university.
Preference will be given to students who come from a farming family.

Complete the essay section of the application.
Submit your Student Aid Report (SAR). If you have not already received your SAR, you can do so by applying for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Submit one letter of reference from someone unrelated to you.
ALLEN L. AND RICHARD H. BAKER 4-H SCHOLARSHIP
The entry deadline for the Baker Scholarship is June 1.

The annual scholarship was established to honor a father, Professor Allen L. Baker, and his son, Richard H. Baker, for their years of dedicated service to the University.

  1. Applicants must be present or former 4-H members in Pennsylvania.
  2. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students at The Pennsylvania State University, at either the University Park Campus or a Commonwealth Campus. Note: Penn College of Technology is not considered a Commonwealth campus and therefore applicants attending Penn College are not eligible for this award.
  3. Freshmen who have satisfactorily completed one semester may apply.
  4. Upperclassmen must have satisfactory scholastic standing to receive the award.
  5. Preference will be given to students who plan to work with youth upon graduation.
  6. One letter of recommendation from a 4-H leader, 4-H educator, high school, or college academic advisor is required. Letters should be emailed directly to Allison Ilgen at apb5616@psu.edu from the person providing the reference.
