The most important factor to consider when choosing a market hog is the date of your county fair. Typically, a market hog will be ready at around 6-7 months of age. Hogs shown during the summer are usually born between January and February and purchased in the spring after weaning. Make sure to arrive early tonight—you won’t want to miss the market swine show!
