Department 23 - Sections 1-2 - Apiary & Maple Products

GENERAL RULES:

Section 1 - Apiary Products

Comb honey to be judged on perfection, in filling, capping, uniformity, neatness and cleanliness of section. Extracted honey to be judged on body, clarity and cleanliness.

3 LIGHT COMB, 3 sections
4 DARK COMB, 3 sections

5 COLLECTIVE EXHIBIT OF HONEY, WAX AND HONEY PRODUCTS
CLASS... $10 $5 $3
6 HONEY PRODUCTS , Yeast Bread - 1 loaf approx. 1 pound - recipe must be included
7 HONEY PRODUCTS, Quick Bread - 1 loaf approx. 1 pound - recipe must be included
8 HONEY PRODUCTS, Cookies - drop, refrigerator, rolled or filled, bar or sheet - a display of 6 cookies on a sturdy plate - recipe must be included
CLASS... $5 $4 $3
9 HONEY PRODUCTS, Candy - a display of 6 pieces - at least 25% must be honey - recipe must be included
10 MISCELLANEOUS - Gadgets for beekeeping

Winners in Classes 6,7,8 and 9 will compete for Best of Show - rosette and $10

Section 2 - Maple Products

Syrup to be judged on flavor, color, density and clarity. Sugar judged on flavor, texture and appearance.

2 MAPLE SUGAR, 1 LB cake
3 MAPLE SUGAR, soft, 1 LB
4 MAPLE SUGAR, small individual cakes, not less than 1 LB
5 MAPLE CREAM, 1 LB
6 ANY BAKED GOOD OR CANDY MADE WITH MAPLE PRODUCTS - recipe must be included

Winners in Section 2 will compete for Best of Show - rosette and $10.00
