CATTLE
|
Pennsylvania Cattle for Exhibtion:
201. Vaccination requirement: All cattle must be accompanied
by a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued after May 1, 2012
and prior to opening date of exhibition, signed by an accredited veterinarian,
that includes a statement that the animal(s) identified have been immunized
against IBR, PI3, BRSV, BVD and Rabies(market cattle are exempt from rabies
vaccination requirement). Animals that have never been vaccinated against
BVD or have not been vaccinated against BVD in the previous 12 months
must receive one dose of modified live virus vaccine given at least 15
days and not more than 180 days before the show. Animals that have been
vaccinated against BVD within the previous 12 months must receive at least
a single injection of modified live virus or killed vaccine given not
less than 15 days and not more than 180 days before the show. The date
of the live virus vaccination OR the dates of the last two killed virus
vaccinations must be recorded on the health chart. It is suggested that
the veterinarian include his/her phone number on the Certificate of Veterinary
Inspection. Hyper-immune serum may not be used as a substitute for the
above vaccination requirement. Animals will not be admitted to the show
unless these requirements are met.
202. Individual official animal identification is required. Offical ID includes a tattoo, a USDA issued metal ear tag or a Radio Frequncy Identification tag.
203.
All drug and vaccine label directions should be followed, including but not limited to milk and slaughter withdrawal periods, and the final dose of vaccine must be administered at least 15 days prior to entry into the exhibtion.
OUT-OF-STATE CATTLE In addition to the above requirements:
A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued within the 60 days prior to the opening date of the exhibition is required. The CVI shall include a statement verifying that "all animals identified on this certificate of veterinary inspection have been examined and found free from Vesicular Stomatitis (VS). During the past 90 days, these animals have neither been exposed to VS nor located within 10 miles of a site where VS has been diagnosed."

GOATS
|
301. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued
within the 30 days prior to the opening date of the exhbition is required.
302. All goats to be exhibited must be identified with official USDA Scrapie Identification. Contact USDA to obtain Scrapie eartags at 866-873-2824, weekdays from 8AM to 4:30PM. Your order may take several weeks for processing, so order tags early. Goats having a registration tattoo and a Scrapie premise ID with a registration certificate are exempt from this requirement.
303. All drug and vaccine label directions must be followed, including but not limited to milk and slaughter withdrawal periods. The vaccine must be administered at least 15 days prior to entry into the exhibiton. |

EQUINE
|
| Pennsylvania and Out of State Equine:
401. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection(CVI)
issued after May 1, 2012 and prior to the opening date of the exhibiton
is required. Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) test results and date
of the test must be included on the CVI.
402. All equine animals must have tested negative for EIA by an official test within the 12 monts prior to the opening date of the exhibition. A copy of the official test results must accompany each animal to its final destination. Foals less than 6 months of age accompanied by a dam which meets the above requirment are exempt from EIA testing requirements. If the foal is not accompanied by the dam, a copy of the dam's test results must accompany the foal to its final destination.
403. A current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian is required for animals 3 months of age or older. All vaccine label directions must be followed, and all rabies vaccinated equine animals must be accompanied by a rabies vaccination certificate or the vaccination information must be included on the CVI. If a rabies vaccination certificate is provided, the certificae must contain legible name and contact information of the veterinarian who administered the vaccine and the veterinarian's signature. A copy of the rabies vaccination certificte is acceptable.

SWINE
|
|
Pennsylvania and Out of State Swine:
501. A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued within the 30 days
prior to the opening date of the exhibition.
502. Individual animal ID is required. ID options include the following:
a) A form of official ID (herd tattoo in combination with an
ear notch; or a state issued metal ear tag; or a Radio Frequency Identification
tag); OR b) A plastic stamped ear tag.
503. A negative pseudorabies test within 30 days prior to the opening
date of the exhibition.
504. For out of state swine, No brucellosis test is required if the animal
originates from a Validated Brucellosis-Free Swine Herd. If from a Validated
Herd, the herd number and date of last test must be included on the CVI.
If not originating from a Validated Herd, out of state swine must be negative
to a brucellosis test within the 30 days prior to the opening date of
the exhibition, and the negative results and date of test must be included
on the CVI or the animals must be accompanied by a copy of the test report..

SHEEP
|
Pennsylvania and Out of State Sheep:
601. A certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued within the 30 days
prior to the opening date of the exhibition is required, it must include
the following: 1) A statement that the flock of origin
was inspected and found free from symptoms of infectious or contagious
disease, 2) A statement that this flock has had no known exposure to or
history of scrapie.
602. All sheep to be exhibited must be identified with official USDA scrapie identification. Sheep from flocks on the Scrapie Flock Certification Progam must bear an official ear tag, tattoo, electronic ear tag, or electronic implant device (the exhbitor must supply a reader).
603. Contact the USDA to obtain scrapie eartags at 866-873-2824, weekdays from 9AM to 5PM. Your order may take several weeks for processing, so order tags early.
604. A current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian is required for animals 3 months of age and older (market sheep are exempt from this vaccination requirement). All vaccine label directions must be followed, and all rabies vaccinated sheep must be accompanied by a rabies vaccination certificate or the vaccination information must be included on the CVI. If a rabies vaccination certificate is provided, the certificate must contain legible name and contact information of the veterinarian who administered the vaccine and the veterinarian's signature. A copy of the rabies vaccination certificate is acceptable.

POULTRY
|
PENNSYLVANIA POULTRY
701. All poultry entering an exhibition must bear a unique individual identification leg band (official PA issued leg bands are not required).
702. An owner-endorsed health certificate must accompany all Pennsylvania poultry and must include the following:
1) Name and location of exhibition
2) Name, address, and telephone number of the owner
3) A statement that their entries and their flock of origin are free of evidence of contagious diseases
4) Owner signature and date of that signature
5) Verification of testing for AI and Pullorum
703. Avian Influenza Clean Testing and Verification( all samples must be collected by a Certified Poultry Technician or an Accredited Veterinarian).All poultry, waterfowl, upland game birds, and ratites, (pigeons excluded) for exhibition must originate from a flock in good standing in the Pennsylvania Avian Influenza Monitored Flock program, OR from a flock in good standing in the NPIP Avian Influenza Clean program; OR the birds must originate from a flock in which a minimum of 30 birds, 3 weeks of age or older, were tested negative for avian influenza within the 6 months prior to opening date of the exhibition and the birds are accompanied by the test report. If there are fewer than 30 birds in the flock, test all birds. For waterfowl, cloacal swab samples must be collected for testing, and the swabs must be tested using virus isolation techniques.

704. Pullorum-Typhoid Clean Testing and Verification (Pigeons and waterfowl excluded). (All samples must be collected by a Certified Poultry Technician or an Accredited Veterinarian).
All poultry, upland game birds, and ratites (pigeons and waterfowl excluded) must originate from a flock in good standing in the NPIP Pullorum-Typhoid Clean Program or from a flock in good standing in the PA Pullorum Equivalent Program; OR Individual birds (pigeons and waterfowl excluded) for exhibition must have had a negative pullorum-typhoid test within the 90 days prior to the opening date of the exhibition. The following age restrictions apply to comply with NPIP standards: a) Chickens shall be tested at 4 months of age or older; b.) Turkeys shall be tested at 12 weeks of age or older; c.) Game birds shall be tested at 4 months of age or older, or upon sexual maturity, whichever comes first; d.) Ratites shall be tested at 12 monts of age or older, e.) All birds not meeting these age restrictions are exempt from pullorum testing requirements.

RABBITS
|
801. Rabbits will be screened on arrival for health and show condition. No rabbits showing signs of contagious or infectious disease will be admitted to the show.
802. Department superintendents have the final judgment in resolving any dispute.
803. Out of State Rabbits: A certificate of Veterninary Inspection issued within 30 days prior to the opening date of the exhbition is required. |
