Department 11 SECTION 19 JUNIOR ARTS AND CRAFTS

SPECIAL RULES: 1. See Department 11 -24 Rules.. 2. Entries MUST be in the building by 7:00 PM Saturday, July 19,2008. 3. To avoid long lines Pre-Register. Send your list in early to have your tags ready when you bring your items in. 4.Anyone up to and including 19 yrs of age may enter. 5. Bring your items to the JR. Exhibit Building on (Fri 10:00 - 5:00) & Sat 9:00 - 7:00) 6. Exhibits must be original of the exhibitor. No numbered painting, copy or trace work permitted. No kits accepted. 7. No article can be entered in more than one class. No exhibitor may make more than one entry in any one classification. A display of paintings or photographs shall be considered as one article. No article previously exhibited at the Bedford County Fair will be accepted in competition. 8. No artwork accepted unless framed and provided with properly affixed wire (no tape) to facilitate hanging. No picture larger than 3 1/2 ft x 3 1/2 ft. 9. No nudity will be accepted.

Special Rules: 1. Poster Size: 14" x 22" maximum. Please make the LOGO large enough to display at the Fair. 2. Name, age, birthday, parents and organization must be placed on back of the poster. 3. Only one entry per exhibitor.

SECTION 19V FUN AND SAFETY ON THE FAIRGROUND POSTER CONTEST
Sponsored by the STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTY FAIRS.
The purpose of this poster contest is to promote the importance of fun safety using the theme " Fun and Safety on the Fairground." A few examples might be: 1. Amusement rides 2. Tram - fairgrounds to and from parking lot transportation. 3. Livestock - Bite - Kick - Runaway - Hand feeding hazard. 4. Horse drawn wagons and equipment dangers. 5. Tractors and tractor drawn equipment dangers. 6. Caged poultry and animal hazards 7. Trip Hazards 8. Any other vision that the artist may have. Age for the student class is determined as of June 1, 2006. The poster size must be 14 1/2 x 22 inches, equivalent one-half of a standard poster board. Other sizes will not be accepted for judging at the state level.
